Our Story

A love nurtured over time, rooted in family, intention, and faith.

Their love is one that was cultivated over time—nurtured with patience, care, and quiet intention.

For over 30 years, their families have been connected through a deep and enduring friendship. Isis’s mother and Kojo’s father, Nana Abass, have known each other since their youth, watching each other’s children grow up from afar. Never did they imagine that one day, their children’s lives would intertwine in such an unexpected and meaningful way.

During one of her visits, Isis’s mother was showing the latest in her collection of family photos to Nana Abass and his son, Kojo. In that simple, unassuming moment, Kojo noticed a photo of Isis and asked about her. Drawn to her immediately, he expressed interest in getting to know her. An introduction was made, and soon after, they met for the first time over a video call.

What followed was not a whirlwind romance, but something slower, more intentional.

They began as friends.

For several months, Isis and Kojo spoke daily—spending hours on video calls, learning each other piece by piece. Their conversations grew longer, their connection deeper. Without labeling it, they were building something meaningful—rooted in honesty, patience, and genuine curiosity about one another.

In August 2022, Isis traveled to Ghana, where they met in person for the first time. It was during this visit that everything shifted. What had been growing steadily across distance became undeniable in presence. Their friendship naturally deepened into love.

Since then, their journey has been marked by commitment, resilience, and intention. Despite the challenges of distance and visa limitations, they have continued to choose each other—traveling back and forth, nurturing their relationship with care and purpose.

In many ways, they are beautifully different. Isis is expressive, vibrant, and full of energy, while Kojo is calm, thoughtful, and grounded—a man of few words with a deeply kind heart. Where one is expansive, the other is steady. Together, they create a balance that feels both natural and whole.

Kojo is a farmer by trade, working with his hands and cultivating the land. Isis is a writer, shaping stories and ideas with her words. Though their paths are different, their values are aligned, rooted in growth, purpose, and building a meaningful life together.

At the heart of their story is family.

When Isis met Kojo’s son, Kofi, he was 14 years old. Their relationship was given the space to grow naturally, built over time through trust, presence, and care. What developed was a genuine and loving bond—one that exists today with depth and sincerity. Isis embraces Kofi as her own, and that connection continues to flourish. Now 17, Kofi is growing into a remarkable young man, with a deep passion and fire for soccer and a strong commitment to his education. Isis and Kojo take great pride in watching him continue to grow and step into the person he is becoming.

Together, they are building a life centered on love, family, and shared purpose.

Theirs is a story of the unexpected—of two lives brought together through time, connection, and a quiet beginning that grew into something lasting. A love that was not planned, but deeply meant to be.
